At 5pm, just before the start of Presentation Night, a rescue was completed off Collaroy Beach by two of our members. A group of teens had to be rescued from the water when their tinnie got into a spin following an unsuccessful attempt at tow-in surfing. One swam to shore, two were assisted by surfers and two were rescued by Rob Maloney and Lachie Davis in our IRB, assisted by Fiona Hall, Christian Loone, Greg MacMahon and Luke Hodgkins. The story made Nine News for the next 2 days plus the Branch and State Newsletters.
